The African in America’s Inauguration Day 2017

On the 21st of January, 2017, the 45th President was sworn in. As many people began to panic, I began to think of art to describe a portion of emotions I saw through social media. For some reason, this all seems to familiar as if history was simply repeating itself. Maybe it is, maybe it is not, but overall we Africans living in America must
remember we suffered since being brought to this country, if not physically, definitely mentally. We bleed for a nation that has taught us, conditioned us, to kill ourselves by simply watching the nation kill us repetitively. We are scared, confused, hopeful and ready to continue our resistance, at least that’s what I got from my social media and conversations with people. Just know the revolution can and won’t stop unless we stop. Our ancestors fought and birthed us in the fight. It is in our blood, so next time you get fearful, use that fear as fuel for the revolution.
